IT service Accenture to generate 15,000 U.S. jobs

IT service Accenture to generate 15,000 U.S. jobsBoston-based company Accenture, a global company providing a range of IT services and solutions, has pledged to bring more jobs back to the U.S., reported Computer Weekly.

Currently, 140,000 of the more than 394,000 Accenture employees are located in India.

Last week, the organization announced a $1.4 billion investment in skills development and a promise to create 15,000 U.S.-based positions in highly skilled jobs in the IT sector by the end of 2020. The growth would make a 30 percent increase in current staff numbers.

“In recent months, I have met with clients across all the major industries we serve, and the need for innovation to grow, compete and transform in the digital economy has never been greater,” said Julie Sweet, Accenture CEO for North America. “Accenture is a leader in digital, cloud and security-related services, and with this announcement, we are accelerating our investments in innovation in the US.”

Presently, many IT companies in the U.S. can bring engineers to their organizations with a H-1B visa, reported Reuters. However, under a new administration some of these practices among companies in the industry may begin changing.

The company-funded training is expected to take place among 10 new U.S. training centers the company plans to open, noted Reuters.
